A Survey on Status of Vaccination in Children in Kwangju Area


Abstract
A survey on status of vaccination in children was carried out upon 314 housewives by questionnaire from September to December, 1975 in Mother-Children
Health Center at Chonnam University Hospital and Health Center, Kwangju. The results obtained were as follows:
1. 55.4% of children received vaccination at general hospitals or private clinics, and 35. 0% of children at. Health Center.
2. The vast majority of respondents recognized the necessity of vaccination, and 88.5% of the subjects knew about the vaccination schedule.
3. The knowledge about various vaccination in order of the frequency was as follows: poliomyelitis(91.3%), small pox(90.7%), measles(85.7%); BCG(79.5%), and DPT(73.2%).
4. The frequency of the number of vaccinated children with various vaccines was as follows: poliomyelitis(84.7%), small pox( 82.2%), BCG(68. 20), .DPT (51. 6%), and measles(45. 9%).
